In The Ladies' Guilty Pleasures Book Club, members get the opportunity to select and read unclassical works of fiction that could be described as: offbeat, wacky, brain candy, light-hearted, fanciful, surreal, a poolside read, sensual, amusing, cheesey, erotic, eccentric, super fun, unadulterated escapism, witty, other-worldly, scandalous, and least likely to win the next Pulitzer.
A guilty read is most often chosen based on the results of an online voting poll. Book selection "candidates" are recommended by members. Only the organizer selects the books read for special author events. Members are encouraged to read outside of their comfort zones. Wonderful surprises often await those who embrace something new.
Every five to six weeks, a Get-Together is scheduled at a local restaurant so that members can enjoy dinner while casually discussing the latest read. Author events are hosted periodically throughout the year.
